Villages to Jungle

Hi all,

I have been in Sauraha, in the Chitwan National park now for 3 days.

The trek is over and i am glad.It was fun but very hard work. We walked up stairs (un-even stones) for about 6 hours a day for 6 days. Total altitude of 2500m. The villages were cool and very village-ee.

Yesterday i watched elephant racing and elephant soccer and today we went for an elephant ride through the park and spotted dear and rhino. I will try to get some pics of that up soon. I have only had a chance to resize a few but have alot of amazing photos.

Will be spending new years on the border of Nepal and India in a little town called Lumbini or something. So a quiet one for me unless we manage to get some local fireworks.

Into Kathmandu

Hi all,

I am now in Kathmandu sitting at the 'Green Organic Cafe'.

Got in yesterday at about 2pm local time and was very tired. Customs was no concern and i got my luggage back in piece, Awesome!

I got to the Om Tara guest house where i am staying and tried to sort some things out like were to put all the crap i have.
We then headed to a really cool courtyard at about 5pm to do some recording of some traditional drum and flute music from people of the tribal/cultural descent called 'Newari'. The venue was amazing, after the lights went out (due to load sharing with the power which switches off for 4 hours everyday).
Walking around the streets is at first seemingly chaotic but then you realize that it all works out and, No Worries!

I am trying to load some pics of the venue and set-up we had.

Got home at 10 after a dinner at the 'Fat Yak' restaurant had a chicken sizzler, nice.
Slept well and still tired cause i didn't sleep for about 40hours getting here.

Bankok airport

I'm in bankok airport waiting and waiting. Have 6 hours here. They have a smoking room which is fun.

Should be in Kathmandu in about 6 hours.

The flight over was ok, had lots of movies on my personal tv but was hot and did'nt sleep.

Well for my second post i thought i'd point out my in-competencies as a 'Blogger'.
If you take a look i have managed to 'follow' myself on my own blog! Now i cant remove myself. I humiliate myself out in the world so why not here.

This term was not coined by myself.

It stems from a forum Greg Simmons has created for this trip.

I will be using this space to write about things that are happening on my journey thru-out Nepal and India.

I will also use it as a source of communication to friends and family to cut down on computer time while travelling.
